Following on from my earlier blog., here are mine. I hope you’ll share yours, too.

Acer ‘Jordan’ – everyone’s favourite!

Acer "westonbirt Star’. I am enjoying the graceful shapes of the more spreading varieties.

The dainty geum ‘Bell Bank’. Totally reliable and graceful.

Viburnum ‘Mariesii’, looking perfect at the moment!

Home-grown bluebells, grown from seed. They have taken a few years to get established. There is nothing to beat the colour and simplicity.

And finally, my rowan, grown from seed. In full flower at the moment. About 10 years old.

Ange, your Jordan is superior to all our Jordans...well done.how old is it ?..it looks lovely. I agree about certain Lilacs...mine has no fragrance and quite insignificant.

This is the 3rd year since purchase of the 'Jordan', Meadow.
'Josee' has been a huge disappointment. It's been in situ for 5+ years and the blooming has been insignificant until now. And the foliage is quite dull for the rest of the year. I thnk I feel the same way about cherry varients too - pretty for a week and a half till the wind gets up, and then dull the rest of the year. I don't much like the trunks of them either. (There, I've said it! I'm for the chop myself now from all the 'cherry advocates' on here...)

Lovely acers Ange, I think they do excel at the moment. All our acers are looking pretty vivid and really quite splendid.
You did ask us to think about our "outstanding " favourite plants each month...I'd have to say the acers or ceanothus perhaps.
We had lilac syringa Josee. It did succumb to bring moved. It was the only lilac we ever had, I do like them, but shan't buy another. I have to be decisive in plant choices here with it being a small area.
Your bluebells look pretty don't they! They've done really well for you.

All wonderful, but the Rowan is my favourite!

Thanks, Kate. The spring colours on the acers have been exceptional here, too.

An old cottage garden favourite, Karen. This was grown from berries of a tree in a previous garden. It was about 2ft tall when I planted it!

That would be great, Sbg. I'm beginning to feel a bit lonely!

Oh, it has been a ruddy nuisance for 3 days or so. Better this morning, but I'm quite out of patience, Rose. Thanks for your (many) comments ;-)
