Much better here! (Papaver orientale (Oriental poppy))

The 'Ruffled Patty' poppy is in its new home - looking soooo much better there! I just hope it survives the move.

Thanks, Dd and Grindle.

Looking good next to the purple leafed plant!

Yes, that's why I made a space for it. When that Lysimachia flowers (yellow!!!) the poppy will have finished. There 'is' method in my madness! lol.

if no one told you how are you supposed to know? so you shouldnt feel like that :o) I remember the line in shirley valentine when she knows the answer to a question and the head mistress in her anguish says' some one must have told you' and shirley replies ' how else would I know' [cleaned up from the actual quote :o)]

'Please may I have a lesson on Dutch Iris names, Miss'? lol.

Definitely the right move Spritz - hope it does well, I`ve never moved anything while its actually in flower.

13 Jun, 2010

Well - it was a big risk, but if it takes, great! If it doesn't...I won't be too upset. Just a little bit! :-(

can you take some root cuttings as a safeguard?
I have to move my Patty in the autumn, it's sitting in front of a red robin and you can't see the flowers very well grrrr!! (not good on this colour thingy LOL)

It's not the right time, is it? I thought you did those in the spring...... No, Patty wouldn't be right with Red Robin.... hmmm...Nope...a definite no.....

15 Jun, 2010

I've moved them at that time before and they seem to be fine

17 Jun, 2010

OK - thanks! I might not have killed it after all! I hate it when that happens, don't you?

17 Jun, 2010

I certainly do. I think I'll do some root cuttings just in case ;)
BTW I'm collecting erodium seed as it's ready, will post them when I get enough
