First Flower, Ligularia dentata 'Othello'

a little ray of sunshine!?

It was a nice color to have pop up in the late season. This is grown more for the big round leaves with red undersides than the flower. But I like it too.

I'm a fan of Ligularia, and love 'Othello' but my garden is far to dry. They struggled at Kew as well, during our long, dry summer.

They took daily watering here this year as we were also unseasonably hot. Beautiful things, I'm glad they like it here. Not much does...:-) Sounds like you might need a little pond Robert. :-)
