Karen, One is called Lady Marmalade, the other didn't have a name tag it is pink and quite a delicate perfume. Yes I saw that Boscobel is in Dobbies not going to get it yet, I think I have no room left lol. :O) although I am thinking of moving that h. geranium on the right and putting one in there. lol. and I found a gap tonight up the path towards the arbour that would take a nice standard rose. lol. I saw one on line the other day, a picture of one anyway, not seen one yet to buy of a weeping standard rose. not sure if I would cope with it but it was impressive.

Glad you approve Michaella, lol :O) x it needed some colour at that side, I kept looking and looking and then this morning I thought I will move that dwarf rhoddie and take out that geranium and then I could put in a rose or two. lol. and heh presto here we are, colour at last in there. Hope it doesn't rain now and drown the poor things. lol :O)

I have just found a weeping standard of Angela's rambler 'Perennial Blue' on the Style Roses website. I might get that one (but not as a standard) in a pot. They have in stock!

I have seen it now, but but but I love that weeping Canary Bird, now that is something else, beautiful but it would not be right where I had in mind but I could always move Arthur Bell and put Canary bird where he has been. lol the mind is jumping about now. lol :O) Will have a think = watch this space. lol

I always say "if you can't get another plant in the garden, you need a bigger shoehorn" :-)

Agreed! Andrew! Mum, Canary Bird is a devil of thorns, but it flowers before any other rose. It doesn't repeat though. The foliage is beautiful. Pros and Cons.

And it's OK for a few years, then starts dying, one branch at a time (well it has for me - twice).

Looking nice Oliveoil.

Thanks for the info. Karen I shall not bother with it then although Lady Marmalade seems to have a lot of thorns too.

What a shame Andrew I thought it looked lovely but after hearing from you and Karen not going to bother with it. Will re-think. :O)

Thank you Alanb pleased you like it :O)

Bloomer, it was looking so dull just in that side border that I could not resist digging things out and putting some colour in. it looks much better now - I also added a couple of Cardinal Lobelia so if they survive (they have not done in the past) it should look much better now.

Now I do need a much bigger shoehorn! lol :O)
