Cucuma - Turmeric flowering

My turmeric plant is flowering again. It goes dormant in winter then starts growing again in early March. Photo taken July 20, 2022.

Who would have thought it looked like that! Beautiful. Is the spice from the flowers or roots?

Yes, turmeric has white to purple flowers. This plant is in more shade because I don’t want it to burn in the hot weather here. It probably would be more purple if it was growing in more sun.
