I have asked a number of gardeners but they have not seen these leaves on a blackberry bush before and said i should get it checked out it was found in the middle of our garden when clearing out other bushes from around it. Im not sure who i should get in contact with so i have posted it to this site so any help is greatly appreciated.

This is probably an adult plant that has thorns on the underside of the stem which goes through the leaves it is in fruit at the moment. As you say it is very prickly as it has twice the amount of thorns that the other blackberries have. I have now looked at himalayan blackberries and they are not showing this type of leaf but the normal blackberry leaf.

Hi Purchases, I'm not sure, but have you looked at the Evergreen Blackberry? The leaves appear similar.

My thornless blackberry is fruiting at the moment, if the thorns bother you thornless are available and the fruit are huge. Only buy one plant as they are easily multiplied by pinning the tip to earth, they root so easily.

It looks very much like the offspring one gets from the Himalayan thornless blackberry. The seedlings themselves are very, very prickly.
