Can i plant out My Star Magnolia Tree now ?? its in a Pot but id like it in a Garden Border

Yes, as Heather says - but it may need protection from winds while its young, or choose a spot that's not too windy. Some shade beneficial, so half sun half shade is best.

Just under the canopy of a larger tree is best or the flowers may go brown after a frost. It will eventually spread to about 8 feet wide so give it elbow-room. It's not good if you regularly prune it, so consider carefully where you put it. Mix garden compost or leafmould into the planting hole and water with rainwater if poss. Keep it well watered all next year. Don't forget to plant some blue spring bulbs (whatever sort you prefer) around in when you plant it. Daffs don't look good next to it.

I'm going to suggest you wait until spring. Magnolias hate root disturbance so the best chance of getting them established is in spring when any root damage can be made good when the tree is in active growth

your right what you said bamboo weather you plant it now or leave it in the pot anyway.and volunteer lol there not as conflicting as they may first look lol.

LOL :)Thanx fror your answers every1 ,now iv to decide where to plant it as where i was going to put it dont sound suitable !! I wanted to make a new border in a open part of my garden with some lovely Purple Aubrieta Planted around it !!! It stands 3ft without Pot Height !!
