Agree with Jent - if you want berries next autumn, best not prune till its in flower this year, then prune around the flowering parts.

Previous question
It won't do it any harm to be pruned now,,curly1,but it does flower on last years wood.If you are selective, and just lightly trim it,and not cut it right back, you will still get flowers and berries, but not as many this year....I cut all mine partly back last Autumn..as they were getting out of hand..but managed to prune round some of the branches, bearing berries..I shall cut it right back to finish reshaping soon..so I don't expect much colour this year..but it needs to be done.
