I do not know what is being said about watering on the internet Mirelusha but a good rule of thumb, when you are in doubt, is to water from below by standing the pot in water, until you see the dampness on the surface of the plant. It looks very healthy. I think ficus like to be sprayed or misted with water. Best to stand it in the bath to do that. Welcome to Goy. I have made a day visit to Denmark and as you say it is very green and we found the people helpful and friendly.

Well it is a Ficus, and it is a bonsai - bonsai plants never have much soil to grow in, that helps with keeping them very small, so frequent watering is required so that it doesn't die. Should be stood outside during the warm months of summer, just for 6-8 weeks - water frequently.

Bamboo you are obviously familiar with these. Do you need to trim the roots of Bonsai trees and when should that be done if the roots are coming out of the pot now.

I'm not familiar with bonsai at all, Scotsgran - I have recently received a book about bonsai, but haven't yet investigated it properly, so can't advise on the more complicated stuff yet!
