I have bought a daphne 'Rebecca ' (it was half price!). I lost an odora marginata last year after trying to transfer from old garden to new garden via 3 months in a pot. I have a site in mind for it but when planting do I tease out the roots or just plant straight into the ground. Any planting advice for this expensive plant gratefully received .

I agree with the above. I'd also add a mulch to help reduce water loss from the soil.

Tease them out if they are going round and round or are otherwise congested. If not plant with as little disturbance as possible, sheltered position, no drying out or waterlogging and keep the roots shaded. Roots deeply.
