Can anybody tell me the difference between osteospermum and dimorphica. Thanks to those who sent in an answer to my question

Osteospermum is the African daisy, Dimorphotheca (note spelling!) is part of the sunflower family and Google implies they can hybridise... that is all the info I have.

Dimorphotheca is the old name for Osteospermum, some people still use it. The common name is often Cape Daisy.

Dimorphothecas are annual daisies from southwestern African deserts, normally blooming in shades of orange, salmon, yellow, cream, and white, usually with dark blue-black centers. here in the low desert, we grow them as winter "wildflowers", since they re-seed themselves so well--sometimes a little too well!
Osteospermums are short-lived perennials native to the South African coasts and the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains. Originally, they only came in shades of purple, lilac, and white, also with blue-black centers, but recent hybrids with Dimorphothecas have added oranges and yellows to the color palette. We also grow these as winter annuals, since they rarely survive our extreme summers, but in coastal California and Oregon they are permanent landscape plants, and trailing varieties are occasionally used as groundcovers.
