I know this subject has been discussed at length some time ago. It concerns the effect of coffee grounds on slugs and snails. The bed at the bottom of my garden has fine, free-draining soil and lately I have been sprinkling used coffee grounds between the plants. When the soil is dry, I have noticed that there are areas with lots of slime and wondered if the slugs have had problems moving over the coffee grounds. So have any other gardeners have had success in deterring slugs using grounds?

I've never known coffee grounds as a slug or snail bait, but it does make a decent soil conditioner.

yes, it has shown the trails where the snails went, but I don't think it stops them, my dahlias are still be eaten.
