My plum tree only has leaves on the sucker branches...nothing on the main trunk or its branches. Is there hope for the tree or is it dead?

Check the twigs to make sure that they are still moist, and still show a bit of green when the bark is nicked. If not, put a little nick on the bark of the trunk, to see if it shows the same. If that doesn't work, the prospects are not good: the growth is likely to be coming from below the graft, and is not likely to produce fruit worth eating. Do you know what happened to it, Mcoughlan?
