I have saved some hollyhock seeds from last summer but the original plant which I cut back to near ground still has green leaves. Will it come again this summer

I tried growing hollyhocks one year. They bloomed beautifully the first year like the magic garden, then I never saw them again. Not sure what happened. They didn't like me?

Depending on weather conditions it may grow back but keep an eye out for signs of rust on the undersides of leaves. For the sake of one plant you don't want it to be a centre of disease that will affect all your new seedlings

Thanks no signs of rust. Hoping for the best 😉
