can you please tell me how to get rid of blackspot on my roses, is it affected by the soil as we continually trim the leaves of the affected parts

This year, ensure that you rake up all the affected leaves that have fallen from your roses (and those still to fall!) burn them - don't compost - then from the first signs of shoots appearing in the spring, spray your roses with an anti- blackspot spray from the Garden Centre/ DIY store. This has to be done at intervals according to the instructions
