Why is the Osteospermum - Spider Purple (African Daisy) blooming dull and paler flowers? Does this need Full Sun and daily water?

Yes, definitely needs a bigger pot, and more sun, maybe some food, too. If you are in the low desert (Sunset zone 13) like me, they may also be suffering heat damage already.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it remains in the nursery bought container ... and I guess, it is also root bound.
Definitely will be shifting it to a bigger pot :)
Any idea, what kind of fertilizer I should be adding to the soil?
My zone is 9 (California)

Since you are in the SF Bay area, heat shouldn't be a problem, then. For food, I have had the best luck with a balanced, high nitrate food, such as Grow More All Seasons, or Green Light 20-20-20.

Over here I would feed weekly with with a general fertilizer such as phostrogen to will help promote flowering.

Thanks Tugbrethil & Drc726 for the info.

They need a sunny position and a weekly feed and keep well watered What I would suggest is that looks a very small pot to me if so? they will struggle.. I grow these in my borders or in big pots on the patio.
