I have to admit to being lazy a few years ago. Instead of lifting my non hardy fuschias, potting them up and putting them in the greenhouse, I left them out side, cut them back a bit and mounded compost over the crown. I was delighted the following year when they all came back. Since then I have just continued doing the same and they are fine.
Mind you, as it is in a pot, if you have the room, it might be best to take Blodyn's advice.

In a pot it is likely the roots will freeze and that will kill them. As long as the roots have enough propection they'll survive.

It will survive the winter in a frost free shed .
I'd put it in a greenhouse or conservatory for now and after the flowers have faded take them off and also the leaves.
Cut it back slightly too.
Put it in a frost free place like a shed where the temp doesn't fall below freezing.
Keep it just damp, yet make sure it doesn't dry out completely.
Next spring you'll see tiny green shoots coming on it and you can repot it then and put it in a light place.
I have lots of fuchsias and I wrote two blogs on this site about how I keep thm in the winter.
