they would realise just how much we gardeners do not appreciate them feasting on our favourite plants, not only at night but now they have become so brazen and appear in daylight too!

I am really hoping they do not develop a taste for Roses as, currently, none of mine have been sampled, long may it last!

This is ‘Rhapsody in blue’ from bud to bloom.

The pretty white blooms of ‘Rambling Rector’ may not last for very long, about three weeks, but they are really lovely little flowers.

The peach patio Rose never ceases to surprise me by blooming so well, it is well over twenty years old, possibly a Woolworths buy.

A gift from GoY member Karen, back in 2015, is this gorgeous ‘Perennial Blue’ rose, it never ceases to perform well. Thanks so much for this, Karen.

Alongside it there is a pure and simple white Rose, from a cheapie shop some years ago, no name to the Rose but I love it!

This orange rose is ‘Irish Eyes’ and is growing right by the summerhouse, lovely to see with a mild perfume to enjoy.

Once again, if the ‘S and S’ even think about these as a delicacy they will wish they had not!

Aw..thanks for the honourable mention Shirley. It is a lovely rose. I feel sad now about all the gifted plants I have had to leave in Scotland. But I shan’t forget them. X

You have a great collection of roses. The Rhapsody in Blue is an amazing shade. They all look nice & healthy (fingers crossed) :-)

'R in Blue" was a favourite of mine. While away at Peter Beales I spied 'Blue for You'. Goodness, how I would love to have that! No space, though.
The roses are coming along nicely now and yours are a smashing selection, Shirley.

Julia, I know just how you feel as I am reluctant to plant out Godetias and Zinnias. Yesterday I added some of them for a charity plant sale ... hopefully somebody else will not be plagued by the S&S!

Thanks Callie, David and Josie, it really is a lovely shade, not blue, more lilac to my eyes.

Your roses are beautiful Shirley, I also have one or two Woolworth's ones, they had good plants.

You have a gorgeous collection of roses in your garden, Shirley. Rhapsody in blue looks a special one. Your Rambling Rector is so pretty, I love that vintagey feel.
I'd like to think roses are too tough for those pesky creatures 🀞

Hywel, I'm beginning to think the wet Winter has really helped some plants to shine this Spring!

Kate, I am now going around the garden each evening hunting out the S&S and regularly find some, so that can only help protect the plants that I do have left!

Yes I agree, some in my garden are doing well this year.

Hywel, I'm thinking of hibernating this Winter ...

You already know I love my roses Shirley, yours are gorgeous, I want to remove one of mine from the rose garden as I have two of the same, just have to choose one I really like, decisions are difficult at times.
As you've probably noticed I'm playing catchup yet again. lol........Hope you are better healthwise now..xx

Thanks Sue, I have just had a wander around the garden (nearly 4 o'clock) and it's so chilly and grey. The Roses have really loved the wet winter weather and I'm so enjoying seeing them all.

Shall you re-site one of the Roses then? I shall PM you later ... :o)
