Hello (very quick blog)
Stevie was over by the veg patch the other day and lifted up our nice black sheet which gets warm in the sun. He’d put it down to encorage guests like us.

Oh my friend Stan (the slow worm) and I were caught napping

Well here I am, Sidneys the name. Dont worry I’m only a baby grass snake

See how I blend in

Ok thats yer lot, I’m off

Fantastic photos Stevie. I have to say I would die with my feet up if I found them in my garden. :0)

you lucky chap Sthe T ! I haven't seen slow worms since a kid back home in Devon & grass snakes under corrugated iron sheets were so fast we only ever caught glimpses of them, always fascinating. Yep! I would love to see any future reptile photos.

That's great, Stevie! Well done for managing to attract them to the garden.

will do Bamps, I am sure i'll be seeing more of them. When I first lifted the black sheet there were two slow worms and I think a bigger grass snake. One of the parents I suspect. Fields all around so have seen the odd one about. We once had one caught in chicken wire and was injured. We took it the vet who offered to stich the wound. However just a word of caution, not dangerous but they do emit a panic smell which STINKS and stunk out the car

Hi Kat, a slow worm is a really a lizard but without legs, hence looks like a snake but isnt
