We visited Peter Beales’ Classic Roses nursery near Attleborough, Norfolk, today.
I took pics. of roses that I had not seen before and hope you enjoy them.
‘Lovestruck’, bush rose
‘The Churchill Rose’ shrub rose
‘Precious Love’ bush rose
‘Pippin’ climber
‘For Your Eyes Only’ small shrub
climber
‘Antique’ climber
‘Eva’ shrub
‘Elina’ bush (Peaudouce)
‘Fragrant Celebration’ climber
‘Ueterson’
I’m adding some pics. of the gardens. Obviously not so many roses in flower in July but lovely nonetheless. Couldn’t do much about the overcast skies!
Ending with everyone’s favourite: ‘Bonica’!

we had friends living in Attleborough and Beales was always a place to visit. The gardens are beautiful.
I 'm not a fan of Bonica and several of my gardening friends had bought it and have been 'disappointed' with it. so you are not alone.

Thank you all for your comments.
We're here for a few days, so it was a 'must' to go and see and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone finding themselves close by.
SBG: It's comforting to know I'm not the only one unenamoured of 'Bonica', she has such a fan-club!!
The main difference between this and the DA. garden, M'land, is the variety of roses from different breeders which are showcased. I think the thing about DA roses is that they're now ubiquitous, and it's good to find other lovely varieties for a change.

Thank you, both.
Kate, I love Norfolk. It reminds me of my youth in Cambridgeshire. All those lovely wide fenland skies. East Anglia is a very underrated area and Norfolk is a special county IMHO.

I would have been in my element wandering around, I love all roses Anget, I've never been but it does look a great place to visit, think I would need a full day as one has to check the perfume of all roses, lol... Thankyou for sharing your visit..

Lincs, if you're down that way in the mid-summer it is well worth a call, and they have an extremely well-stocked outlet, even now.
