It’s been a beautiful day, so I took advantage of the sunshine and took a few pics. of colour in the small front garden.
The tulips have done well. We have Chrysantha ‘Tubergen Gem’ (small yellow/red) and Clusiana ‘Peppermint Stick’

Tulip ‘Mistress’, like the others, comes back each year and works well with the ‘Peppermint’.

I like tulip ‘Washington’ for its feathery colouring:

Other than tulips, seed-grown wallfowers:

and seed-grown heucheras are more evident

looking very good Ange.
the species tulips are lovely aren't they.

It's nigella, Klahanie. I love it in all stages and allow it to self-seed.

Thanks, Siris and SBG. I have a soft spot for these small tulips - much easier to fit in with the other plants. I wouldn't be without them. Noticed this evening that the Tardas have all opened in the back garden. Lovely!

Just love your tulips. I don't have a very good record with tulips lol, I have just 3 free ones in my back garden and every year, somehow the dogs trample them. This year is 1st year they have survived the dogs, as they are not allowed in the back at moment to let my grass seed to grow, so it's the 1st year I've managed to enjoy them Haha.

Thank you, Ladies.

Sorry to hear you've had a reaction to the vaccination, Rose. Hope you feel better soon.

Jen, your dogs do put you through a lot! What we put up with for our animals!

The tulips are looking a real treat Ange, I especially like Washington, beautiful. I've a few garden ones to come out, Ballerina mainly and pots of what should be wedding colours but so far are bright red! Maybe it was a winter wedding..:))

Lovely tulip colours and varieties, Ange! I’m drawn to the pink ones I have to say!!!
I thought it was cosmos at first, then when you said nigella...I grew some last year from seed for the first time.
It seemed to do ok, thankfully..I was surprised I managed it!

I loved the tour of your garden Anget. Looks like you've been very busy. Lovely selection of tulips Alas they survived the dogs.

Thank you, all. We seem to be the only ones on our street with any flowering bulbs on show. People here don't react much to the seasons. No pots, no hanging baskets, no primroses. I couldn't bear to be without some colour. Maybe it's my age!

Love all of your tulips Anget especially that deep yellow one being complemented by what looks like a quince.

Thank you, Stroller. Yes, it is a quince. The tulp is a small clusiana chrysantha variety. The border is about 2ft. wide to the pavement so it fits in easily.
