Thank you Hywel, I had the spider plant in the chimney pot last year,as well.I will bring it back in,when the weather changes,and give it a trim. The paint on the shed is called 'Wild Thyme' one of the Heritage range.I love it too :o)

Not the same colour then, mine is called Pebble Trail (or something similar) and it's Cuprinol Shades.

I always put my spider plants out for the summer too. I think they like the wet ! :D x

Have to laugh at Hywels comment, my spider plants have missed summer outdoors and you can tell...:( yours fits perfectly in the chimney pot.
As for external paint colours, someone has painted our sky, battleship grey. I hoped it was the undercoat to cerulean blue, but no, it's definitely the top coat and it's matt...:))

Forgot to say the fuchsia in the last pic fits lovely there too...

Thank you Janey, I do love the spider plant in the Chimney pot,and it needed repotting this year,so one of the 'Babies' might take over from 'Mum' one day.ha ha.Glad you like the Fuchsia in the corner border,and the shed colour too,it was originally an Orangey/brown colour ,which I loathed,so this is much easier on the eye :o)
..and,speaking of colour,We have had the Battleship grey all day too,with a brief interlude of approx 5 minutes of yellow,and blue at teatime. back to grey now :o((

Lol,Shirley,I only use a Tomato food, but this year,I've been a bit more attentive,in adding it to my watering cans weekly..well,almost weekly, to be honest ! ha ha.but I've watered them every evening ,weather permitting..I also bought some different Compost this year,which is more expensive than some of the others,so I really think it has helped. I only remove the top few inches of the last years compost,to the borders,and top it up with new,which seems to be fine .x

Thank you Paul, I don't find it so hard to maintain,to be honest, mainly dead heading,watering etc,now it's established, but don't forget i've had almost 20 years to get it as I want it,and had lots of changes over the years,some good,some not so good ! Lol.plus .being retired ,I have the time .The best idea was getting rid of the rubbishy back lawn, and having gravel instead. Great for pots,drainage etc,and no weeds ! :o) x

It could be a similar shade on our Sheds,Hywel ,as so many look alike .I hadn't thought about the Spider plants liking the wet, but it sounds logical,as I get brown tips when it's indoors,and the air gets too warm and dry,even though I mist it.It hasn't had any whilst it's been outside.. A shame they aren't hardy.! x

20 years of gardening hae certainly paid off Sandra. It all looks lovely. A credit to you.
I don't know if you remember but I also got rid of our dreadful lawn at Devon Way and replaced it with a gravel bed with a wooden barrel turned on its side. Much easier and nicer.
Slap and Tickle was another residence in my last garden. It sat under the rose called Hankie Pankie lol!
The baskets etc along the shed look great! Did you grow the plants from seed?

P.S. I have my spider plant in the bathroom. It seems to like it there best.

Thank you Julia,and I do remember you getting rid of your lawn,and love the combo of the Dianthus and the Rose names.. ! ha ha,,very apt :o).
I bought the shed plants,along with most of the others,and only grew the Dahlia's from seed,but I did do quite a few cuttings of some perennials,which have all grown well,also had some gifted :o)
My spider plant lives in the Conservatory in winter,as there is no suitable space in our Bathroom,or Kitchen,and seems happy enough :o) xx

Thank you Rose, and neither did I ,but My next door neighbours sister had brought some for her Brother,so he gave me one..I had no room for it indoors at that time,so ddecided to put it in the Chimney pot,and it did so well,so out it went again this year :o)
I would love to send you some sun,but if it comes via Yorkshire first,I'll send it on to Lincolnshire ! lol. xx

No problem,Chris, and thank you so much.I love it in the Chimney pot too,and over the years,this is the best anything has looked in it,expect for an Ivy,which I got bored with ! There isn't really enough root space to have several plants,so this is ample. Everything else seems to be lasting well too,so it's been a good year. x

The Spider Plant is often used here by our council gardening departments & has been for very many years. In fact the only plant of it I have came from some flowerbeds nearly 15 years ago! I dug up one plant when I knew that in a day or two they would be removed & go for compost.
