Owl ‘Refurbishment’ :)

I bought this Owl in TK’s not long after we moved here, and he’s been outside almost ever since. Today I had a bit of spare time and decided it was time to spruce him up a bit as the sun has faded him quite severely.

I used a few of my Acrylic paint marker pens. Orange and green went on roughly to give a bit of depth to the colour, then brown, which I brushed in afterwards with a stiff dry paintbrush. Then white and Gold completed the highlights and a bit of black on his eyes. I think he looks even better than new now! Scott is going to yacht varnish him tomorrow. So for tonight he stays safe and snug indoors. :)

I like him, you have done a good job. What is he made of?
I have some pottery toadstools, the paint flakes of each year, so I repaint each year with acrylic, I wonder if varnish would seal them?

woohoo, lovely.

Siris, he appears to be made of resin or plastic...resin I think. He is hollow and has a small tear under one wing, so I can see he's only a mm thick, if that. But he’s not soft..he is quite sturdy, so Resin I think.

Cutey, or should I say Hooty :-) shame to put him out again, I'd have him on display indoors for winter.
