Pansies in flower trough on balcony. They don't look a great deal different now in December.

Yes, they are doing well & I love to see these cheery little plants all winter. Sorry you didn't get them at the price I paid, they go quickly & at 30 plants for £3 who wouldn't like a few packs? Shame I didn't get more at the time although I did well in getting lots of Violas! They will look equally fantastic in the spring as well!

I have another two troughs like this one. I filled them with lots of Violas & underplanted them with Daffs & Tulips. The Pansies are also underplanted with Daffs & Tulips! I'll upload some more pictures in the spring when they are in flower.

Lovely colours in this selection.

You are quite right, Bernieh, they do have some nice colours & what's more they will continue to have flowers during mild spells in our winter till the main flush comes in the spring. :-))

That's brilliant. Mine are done for the year now. They never make it through our summer and wet season.

Not surprising really as these are cold season plants mostly. They do very well in our climate & are used a great deal by the parks & gardens sections of our local councils.

Our council uses 1,000s of them every year & what's more they grow them themselves in their own greenhouses! The small flowerbed in the gardens of our block of flats has been planted up with them again this year. I must say they look much the worse for war now as the strong, cold winds of the past few weeks have spoilt them a lot. No doubt they will pick up again in the spring.

I grow them most years on my balcony, too. I underplant all my pots & flower troughs with small bulbs. This trough is underplanted with Tulips & Daffodils as well as Crocuses!
