Wish I was better at taking photos or can I blame my camera? anyone know what it is yet? I had to take him down to my shedwithoutadoor as his position was too precarious. hope he's alright:-)

I think this is a 'silver Y moth',the white shape on the wings give it its name :)

Wow....a beautiful moth Ba.....thats interesting Aster, a bit like the Comma butterfly with the white comma.......:o)

That's him alright Aster, apparently they're common:-( I've never seen one before or maybe I've never been so close to one to notice his weird shape 'cos if he flies at me, I'm out of there:-) Bet you haven't seen one either Janey:-)

There are so many different types of moth, I suppose anything which stands out like the Y and the comma ,makes identification so much easier :) I've not seen one either,they are day and night fliers so you would think we'd see them more !
