well Im glad you like it Yorkshire, Hywel. Perhaps I can latch on to a nice day next summer and invite y'all! We made four seating areas in a small space because a) we like to view garden from different perspectives and b) cos we hope to have a few get togethers with like minded people who can sit in different spots and chat..and each area not far from the other,so you can share chat. The steps are wide so younger elements can sit on those! Worked it out we can sit 18/20 fairly comfortably and still converse and reach the wine!!

Dog friends very welcome too..its a dog proof garden and it doesnt matter where they roam..

No such luck on the builder front Bjs, but he is a superb digger. When we moved in he dug the whole of the front 8 times before getting rid of all the bindweed, and the back garden 3 times. He also dug neighbours back garden 3 times for him to put down turf.
And yes of course we would let Jamie run riot..however would draw the line at him digging up the plants! He would probly make for the hostas where the hedgehogs spend most of the night and the cat next door spends most of the day hunting for birds.

Thanks Y/shire and yes it is a nice warm corner Hywel. The hardest work Karen was getting the right sweep around to the planter. It took a lot of nagging from me and three goes by the builder before they got it right. I need to post a pic taken from bedroom window which will show you why I was so fussy
