Diohio is such a sweetheart ! Isn't it beautiful David !
The yellow is so bright it almost blinded me....lol It's the clump forming variegated bamboo David, I forgot to ask her what cultivar ..... Maybe I can entice her to pop in and inform us....;-)

Many Thanx, Fl, I had this down to being a grass or reed. Yes, where has she been? Tell her we miss her stunning pics of her plants and wildlife, to which she is so dedicated, please? Is she actually doing the book she once spoke about? :-)

Thanks on her behalf David, I'll be sure to pass your message along. She's swamped with several big projects at the moment, but don't give up on her, I'm sure when things settle down, she will be back to dazzle us again ! I'm sure counting on it anyway....:-)

Super coloured foliage on this bamboo, Flcrazy..
no wonder you're pleased with it. :o)

Yes Terratoonie, it quite simply puts my other variegated bamboo to same. I really owe Diohio, big time now....lol

It really shouts YELLOW, doesn't it. LOL.
I hope when Diohio has completed all her projects she'll be able to come back to GoY.
GoY is fun but very time-consuming, and these days nobody can comment on every single photo, but Diohio takes some lovely pics. and it would be nice to have her back when she's ready...

Gorgeous leaf a lovely gift - when I worked on a large estate we had 2 types of variegated bamboo a real monster with glorious striped canes and a dwarf variety more like a shrub not sure it was strictly a bamboo bit like Nandina .

I'm sure she will Terratoonie, I'd hate to miss out on what's going on in her neck of the woods this year. I know what you mean about GOY being time consuming. I really got stressed out a few times last year because I just couldn't stay caught up, with the posts or my garden...lol. So I 've decided to do what I can when I can and hope my friends on here will be patient with me, I will get back around to everyone eventually ( I hope !)
Thanks Bonkers, this one and my other one are the dwarf varieties too. Like you said, they are great spreaders also.

Dear Fl!
GOY should never be stressful. It is such a huge favourite site, now, so it is totally impossible to keep up with everything, and everyone. Some people are seasonal visitors, some go, forever,Some now have private e-mail contact, some wish to remain wholly private. In my almost 2 years membership here, I have found a great many wonderful friend,s, witnessed by the wondefrul gifts and exchanges of plants, seeds, etc., which take place. Some of us also keep in regular private contact, have met up, and share so many other aspects of our lives, apart from gardening. Through this, we realise that we have lives to lead, and cannnot always be on GOY and answer all our Inbox comments, or see what everyone else is up to, or even hope to "keep up" with the latest pics, etc. I, personally, use the search box a great deal, but am lucky enough (with Jacque) to be able to edit specialist pages for the GOY online encyclopedia (hope this is well used, btw), and, so, I get to update quite easily.
Gardening is one of the best de-stressers which exists, whether in your own plot, or dipping in to the global allotment which is Growsonyou! :
Just Enjoy, as and when you can, like moi!! :-)

Thanks so much for understanding David, and you're are quite right , I've made some very dear friends on GOY that I hope to stay in contact with for the rest of my life, and have witnessed some very exciting new varieties of plants, and seen some of the most beautiful gardens one can imagine, that have inspired me to no end. (Man, that was a very long sentence...lol). I was just afraid newer acquaintances might think I was a snob for not getting back in touch with them on a daily basis. But like you said, I will do what I can when I can. I found out the hard way last year that once I get behind in weeding, there's just no catching back up, and I can't afford for my favorite hobby to start stressing me out or I might turn into the wicked witch of the west !....lol

I think that I have one very similar Flcrazy, I'll have to snap a shot and post it :)
I'm not the only one having trouble keeping up on GoY I see :)

Yes Tasteyg, I think with the way it's grown since we joined, it's near impossible to keep up now. It's so addicting though, makes one want to try anyway ...lol
Will have to check out your pics soon, do you happen to know the name of your variegated bamboo ?

We are growing this in our garden, it does not spred like our other bamboo, I think it is a lovely plant.
Sorry do not know its name though.
