Papaver orientale

This is a poppy I bought as part of a collection several years ago, but have carelessly mislaid the name tag-it will probably turn up one day. There has turned out to be 2 different but similar cultivars, this one being the most striking. I always love to know the names of my plants from the genus down to the cultivar and am so frustrated when companies attach labels saying 'in variety' or any other generality!
