There are so many tulips around I supose its not surprising that we do not see that many of them. This one got an AGM in 1995 and it was confirmed in 2008 according to the RHS Trials. As an amateur I would have said the tulip you showed earlier with red and yellow flowers had variegated leaves. Knowing you know your stuff when it comes to descriptions I looked up the meaning of variegated and am still puzzled. Can you enlighten me please? This tulip should come out pink. Please show us what it looks like when the flowers open.

well the bud is a clear white and green, I half hope it wont turn pink as it is planted in a predominately white bed!
Variegation as I understand it is where there are visible pigments in addition to/or absence of the Chlorophylls that are green. Often thought of as white/yellow but addition of red pigments etc also counts.
So yes the yellow dawn have reddy patterning on the leaves but dont tend to be classed as variegated.

For our Highers we could choose 2 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography. I chose Biology and History. I wanted to do all of them. I suppose that is why I'm always asking questions. My son was luckier because he was allowed a special concessation to do 3 sciences plus either Geog or History. We also had to do a foreign language, English and Maths. I think kids are being allowed to study a wider range of subjects for longer nowadays which must allow them more career options later.

Thats true until Mr Gove started re-organising and suggesting some of the more creative subjects are not of any use.
For my eldest girl who is doing fashion she would have been stuck. She did hers at the right time.

Our system in Scotland is and always has been different so I dk what new plans might be afoot here. Power does seem to go to some peoples heads. I thought there were so many protests he had to back down on some of the more outrageous suggestions.

He did on some but he is making even more suggestions. He hasn't even had any education in Education. He has been to school so he is an expert now!
