Crab apple jelly time.

There has been a bumper crop of crab apples this year. T picked two large buckets full at the weekend.

It took 2 pans like this to stew them all…

After leaving the stewed apples to drain through muslins overnight I set to and made the jelly this morning.

I don’t think I’ve ever made so many jars full. Our family and friends will be pleased.. :o)

Thanks Rose, the jelly goes well with any white meat.
Amy, I have given a couple of jars to family already, some will go as Christmas gifts to friends and by Christmas the family will want another jar.
Ff, thanks, T left some apples on the tree for the blackbirds, it looks a bit lop sided now!!
Sue, we will start a jar on Sunday. :o)🤪
Eileen, I used to use an upturned stool until T put my new cupboard doors on with bar handles. Perfect for tying the string to. :o)
Thanks Paul, it’s just been a great year for the apples.
