The River Derwent flows alongside and there are waterfowl who visit. There are rowing boats to take on to the water and in the summer months there is usually some sort of entertainment on the Sunday. Brass band, choirs or drama group. It's only a small park but very nice. Belper Mill has lots of history and you can visit the original old mill that Strutt built.

i looked up about this place and belper mill, and its so lovely just as you describe a well worth place to visit...on my list of things to do!!!
