Osmanthus for Shirley tulip..

As promised,Shirley..the cutting you sent me in 2012,and it's growing well...thank you,I love it..:o)....do you see what I mean about it growing more on the right hand side, with the bird feeder pole on the left? I'm toying with the idea of moving into a full sun ,more open position, when the time is right..I'm fed up of the birds using it as their toilet, and the bitten off bits of sunflower hearts, which stick to the foliage, when wet ..not nice ! apart from that,no problem Lol..x

Sandra, I think it would be happier in a sunnier spot. The birds obviously aren't fertilising it enough!

Actually,Shirley,it is in a sunny south western position, but on reflection,I think foliage from other plants in that corner, could be shading it too much,so not as open as it should be... I might 'rearrange',some of those first :o) I moved a Hebe last year, which is now almost in front of it,so shading the lower growth on the left...It will give me something to do..watch this space next year ! Lol x

I spotted that pretty Hebe ... time to move it perhaps? :o)

I only moved it there last year,Shirley,.looks like it will be on the move again..somewhere ! lol..I only like it in winter because the foliage goes a pretty pink..It's called 'Silver Dollar.'and I have two..one is in the front garden...To be honest I find them very nondescript the rest of the year. They are supposed to have small white flowers in spring..I've only ever seen one in the time I've had them ! !They are sooo boring :o)

It sounds similar to my Hebe 'Sweet Kim', not seen a single flower on it, ever! Looks like we both need to re-site our Hebes, mine is being covered by a Spiraea shrub ... :o(

Here's a thought, it would look good planted near a dark maroon/purple Sedum ... :o)

Funny you should say that Shirley..the one in the front garden, has a Purple Emperor Sedum either side of it.! ooh, that is spooky ! this is the one that had one flower on it..lucky me.. Lol .
