Blowing a gale here, but the storm comes later I believe. Poor Rachel in Dorset! Love this pretty tulip. On to my faves!

What a lovely tulip variety that is and to have it flowering nice and early is a real bonus. Glad you have put them somewhere sheltered.
Very strong winds here at the moment and staying with us for a while.

They seem early, glad you've put them somewhere safe.

Thank you Chris.I love this tulip too..As regards the weather, the strong winds have still not arrived,at 8.30pm..the odd gust, but that's all..could be a restless night !

Sorry about the damage this wind has caused,3d..hope your mirrors aren't :( Everything is fine here,as it's not been as bad as predicted..very wet and windy this afternoon, but this morning was sunny..it dried all my washing ! :o)

Lovely tulips Bloomer. I put the bird food away into the shed and Gerry moved the bonsai's to a safer place, and the storm came and went but I think we were on the outer limits of it.

They are such pretty Tulips ... we had a wet and windy evening yesterday but no damage that I can see this morning ... :o)

Thank you Linda..looks like we both missed the worst of it,thank goodness..

Thank you Shirley..they open fully in the sun,so only look Yellow, and close up again when it's dull, which is how I prefer them,so you can see the red stripes...never satisfied it seems ! lol..Glad you didn't have any damage..a sigh of relief I should imagine ..x

Definitely ... just a few long stemmed Daffodils bent over to the lawn ... :o(

Not too bad then,Shirley? at least they will look natural ... somehow the idea of staking a daffodil just doesn't appeal ,does it ?? Lol.x

Lovely Tulips, Bloomer! 😀 I, too, have some lovely red & yellow dwarf Tulips flowering at present on the balcony!
7 Mar, 2019
Thanks Balcony..The wind has been playing havoc with them,so I've added a little inobtrusive stake and garden twine to keep them upright..The flowers are quite top heavy...they should look ok for a little while longer now .:o)
8 Mar, 2019
After the winds we are forecast the next few days it will be just as well you have put in some unobtrusive stakes! Today, Sunday, we are having a lot of wind but also some sunshine & clouds, no rain - yet!
10 Mar, 2019
A waste of time with the stakes,Balcony..petals all blown off in the gale force wind !we have had heavy rain, sunshine plus sleet too..some areas had quite a bit of snow....ah well, the thought was there..ha ha..

Only just seen your post here Sandra, what pretty tulips. What a shame the strong winds got to them. It looks like winter has returned again this coming week, brrrr!
10 Mar, 2019
They WERE pretty,Julia ..ha ha..never mind, better than never at all :o) Hasn't it been dreadful today? but looking on the bright side,we have been lucky to get to March relatively unscathed...and yes ,it's been very brrrr!

It's hard to believe that only a couple of weeks ago I was actually wearing summer tops! The winter woollies are definitely back out!
11 Mar, 2019
Me too..and much warmer than yesterday,by this afternoon,so that was a bonus :o)

Sorry to hear that the gale force winds blew the petals off your tulips. 😞
Mine are now starting to go over & the wind & rain of today have practically put an end to them.

I hadn't heard about this storm coming ! Its very calm here at the moment Sandra.
They are lovely tulips. Mine which I bought from Laceby are in pots but won't be flowering for a while as they were planted late with moving.
