Escallonia 'Iveyi'

Escallonia 'Iveyi'

Beautiful, but rather large. I shall be thinking about removing this shortly. It's outgrown it's welcome. The leycesteria golden lanterns behind is a bird set and it will also be coming out. But I like the tall Buddleia. It works well on the edge of the field. Hedge is desperately needing cut. It's a big job and I think OH is avoiding it this year. Keeps citing bird's nests but I think he fancies a cordless. Its such a pain hauling the cable around the garden.

I have escallonias and keep them cut down to a level I want. It does not seem to affect the flowering in any way. We got a contractor in to cut our hedge down south and he made a lovely job of it. I would consider that rather than a cordless (battery) hedgecutter. We found the petrol one was too heavy for us oldies.

Well, I did think I might just cut it hard back this year, after its flowered, and see how that goes. Thanks x
