Thursley Common

Thursley Common

All the Heather is in loom at the moment. It is a good place for common lizards, they bask on the boards when it is sunny. A famous place also for dragon flies, I believe 16
species can be found here & people come from quite far away to photograph them. A bird seen regularly here is the Hobby. I'd never seen this bird before I lived in this area of Surrey. The name of the village Thursley is of Viking origin.
Thor's lea.

What a lovely photo. This must be a lovely place to spend several hours. It looks very peaceful and very pretty with the heathers planted either side of the boardwalk.
