Close up of Cherry Blossom

Close up of Cherry Blossom (Prunus x subhirtella Autumnalis Rosea)

I remember when I first 'discovered' this Cherry and how impressed I was by it. I've had it in all three of my gardens and I can't imagine a garden without it...certainly not in Scotland anyway! It really does help me to tolerate our long winter.

Exactly Chris! It is smothered in buds and they open in a steady flow.

Wow your Prunus does have masses of buds - lovely 🙂. Mine is going over and looks a bit wan, but is only two years old. Is there anything I can do to make it more floriferous?

Sorry Sheila, I’ve no idea. But our climatic conditions are very different. :)

With mine it’s all about the weather. It’s been fantastic this year as it’s been so mild, some years I get hardly any blossom, I guess it gets frosted.

OK, thanks anyway. I shall try to be more patient!
