Elaeagnus for my records

Elaeagnus for my records

These lovely evergreen foliage shrubs are not fully hardy. So this one has been given a very sheltered spot. I just want it to grow up and hide the bottom of the hedge in Golden Border.

We grow this one, slow but most attractive...

Yes, I would have preferred something with greater vigour tbh. But this does the job...in a few years!

They are fine if controlled regularly...we had to remove a 30 year old one 3 years ago...it had been planted by the previous owner.I found it very difficult to keep trimmed...the hedge cutter didn't like it either!
I'm sure you will manage it well,K.

My other one is a pain. It insists on leaning forwards down the bank. I tie it to a post every so often, bit it always breaks free. I hade taken some branches off to try and even it up. It does give me lovely bright golden colour in winter though!
