Newish Fatshedera.

Newish Fatshedera.

I bought this in a GC as a houseplant. It's grown so big it's had to be repotted twice already and now it's in the Greenhouse. It was labelled, but wrongly, so I had to do some research to find it's correct name. The leaves are extremely curvy which I find very beautiful. Fatshedera lizei 'Pia'

This would probably be fine all winter in your garden Paul, but up here they don’t do well. They survive, but then they don’t grow again until June so each year they seem to get smaller instead of bigger. But in my last garden I had one outdoors all year and it did ok..in a very sheltered corner in full shade.

It is. This is a hybrid of Ivy and Fatsia - the false aralia I think is it's common name. And it's a perfect blend of the two plants. I love Ivy, but this doesn't cling by aeriel roots, so you have to tie it to its support.

We have a green and a variegated Fatshedera....but not Pia.....annoying that it doesn’t cling though!
