Pittosporum pruned today

This Pittosporum tenuifolium had grown too tall for my liking, neighbour had his ‘Tree man’ round today so I asked if he had time to give it a prune.

Neither OH nor I feel inclined to scale ladders for tree pruning these days, thank goodness for the ‘Tree man’.

Looks a very satisfying result,Shirley. Our Pittisporum has grown very tall but luckily is tucked away in a corner.

That has a good post lockdown trim ;o)
it looks better for it doesn't it?
OH is still not paying anyone to do the jobs he can still do. But the question is does he do them? Answers on the inside of an ant's eyelid please.

He did a great job of cutting it back, it looks so much better now!

Meadow, all of that fencing and the square trellis needs to be removed and/or replaced so it made sense to trim the shrub/tree before!

Sbg, that made me smile about your OH!! I paid the 'Tree man' £20 ... think that was very fair.

Thanks Balcony ... :o)

Sbg - a cautionary tale for your OH. My brother (who is a couple of years off being an OAP) fell off a ladder last year. He broke his leg and severely bruised his bladder which has not worked since, so he has to use a catheter. Older people do not bounce as well as when they were young

Oh your poor brother I hope he goes on to fully recover. My Oh is 61 but it doesn't stop him getting on a motor bike and riding all around the Yorkshire country side. He is sensible up ladders and tends to use a scaffolding type structure etc when I can get him up them haha.

£20 is very reasonable Shirley Tulip especially when it has been done so well.

Sbg, I thought that was a fair amount to pay ... and there was barely a twig left to pick up ... :o)

I desperately need a treeman, this darn lockdown and all the closures of our amenities tip has worked perfect for my hubby, perfect excuse to not do the jobs I cannot manage....

Oh dear, sounds like he's going to be busy soon. The recycling sites are taking more and more items now ... :o)

That's a job well done isn't it? Bet you feel really upcheered. Sending lots of sympathy to your unfortunate brother.

Stera, it was Andrew's brother who had the fall off a ladder!

Thanks Hywel, it needed doing some time ago but 'Lockdown' put paid to that.

Looks very neat and it’s a great shape too! I’m fortunate my chap is still in his early 50s. I won’t take him for granted, you never know what’s ahead...
