Immature celery plants produce a clump of delicious slender 20cm stems and leaves for cutting.
Cut regularly to promote fresh growth and harvest regularly.
This will grow in any well-drained soil in full sun or part shade outdoor plants are winter hardy.
Sow April to June outdoors or December to June under glass.
Sow monthly for a long cutting period on the windowsills.

Sowing instructions:
Sow thinly on the surface of a good free-draining seed compost and cover with a fine sprinkling if vermiculite or compost.
Place in a propagator or sealed container inside a polythene bag at 16-20C until germination - which can take up to 21 days.

Growing instructions:
When large enough to handle prick out seedlings individually into 5cmpots.
Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting when risk of frost has passed.
A few plants can be grown on a windowsill for regular picking of fresh leaves.
Can also be sown outdoors 13mm deep in drills 30cm apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth (tilth is the physical condition of the soil. Soil that drains and absorbs water well and is easy to work with would be described as good tilth).

Outdoor sowings may take up to 28days to germinate.
When large enough to handle thin out seedlings to 23cm apart.
Harvest stems and leaves as and when required.
