HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural and healthy foods and sound agriculture which helps to regenerate and protect the countryside and wildlife.
Lovage is a hardy perennial bushy herb with leaves and stems similar to celery - it is traditionally used to season soups and stews. The crushed seeds and chopped leaves can be added to omelettes but take note the seeds have the stronger flavour.

Sow from March to May thinly in a well-prepared seedbed in full sun or partial shade. Sow 13mm deep in drills 30cm apart. Transplant seedlings to 45cm apart and keep watered. Harvest from June to sharp frosts - the plant dies down during winter.
