Julia, they leave Geums and Penstemons alone so I'm thankful for that!

Rose, I now have 3 plants growing in the garden with one of them showing buds, hooray!

Hi Rose, hope all is as well as it can be with yourself, thanks for the lovely comments and yep I think your so right where I don't think we will ever get over missing them, think when you have been together for so long you just become part of each other, all we do is manage it as best as we can x

It will depend on the brand. resist making it strnger as it can draw water out of plant cells and if not taken up by the plant then it is wasted [or feeds the weeds too].

I often put things like morning glory and sweet peas with early flowering climbers and sweet peas in with my runner beans.

I seem to have missed this one Davey!
Your garden looks great and I love all the quirky things especially how you have made that planter look like a boat!
I love it!
I am pleased you are enjoying being out in your garden now.
It helps, doesn't it. I still miss Rick and don't suppose that will ever get better, but I feel he is with me all the time.
I often wonder how you are getting on.
I love your garden and like Karen, love that last plant!
I hope you are not overdoing it with your new hip.
Take care and stay positive!

I love to see bluebells and tried to create a small woodland area around my big cherry tree and planted lots of them but strangely enough, a lot of them appeared in beteen the gravel around my roses!

I am like Lincslass and it made me smile, but it must have been a worry for you incase it harmed her.

I used to have this one and a yellow one but lost them over the winter.
On photo - Orange and Lemon
I have a white one which is now in flower Karen.
I love them but wish they flowered longer.

Without checking individual brands, it's an unknown.
But I would think so, I know tomato fertiliser has different dilution rates & concentrations dependant upon brand.
Not guide, but I was under impression fertiliser, when mixed, should be “weak tea” shade
But of course who knows what dyes are added to the bottle mix in manufacture.

A particularly attractive Hosta Shirley...isn't it annoying with the slug etc attacks.I think the only resistant ones are Perlagoniums and the Curry plants.I have planted out 2 of the Alstromerias and waiting with baited breath.

Thanks David, I do like a simple white flower.

I hope they stay away from your garden, Karen, I have now lost another two Sunflower plants so I shan't bother growing any from seed next year.

Balcony,
The secret to flowers is lots of bright light and cool night temps, for many species. Nights temps should be from 45 to 58 degrees f. in winter. These temps are the normal night temps in San Diego during winter. Epiphyllum oxypetalum is a summer bloomer.
I have several other Epiphyllum varieties flowering right now. I’ll post pics in the next few days.

Yeah..we had heavy rain yesterday and overnight too. Still no sign of any slugs. They are on their way though.

Clever you...just started Cosmos from seed...first time with seeds.

I have many cuttings of a deep red Epi but they have never flowered for me. Last year I took the original plant out of its pot to repot it in Cacti & Succulent compost that I bought to repot all my Cacti. They seem to love it as they have all grown wonderfully - but still no signs of buds even - let alone flowers! They are all in small 9cm (3") pots. They root very well & so I've ended up with lots of plants but no flowers!

Thank you, Lindak & Shirley. I have liked this Pelargonium since I bought it many years ago. Of course it's not the original plant but one of its many, many descendants!

I gave up in frustration one day! I thought it was because of a bad internet connection in our bedroom, but when I tried to post on GoY later I found the same problem. I'm glad the problem has been fixed & GoY is running normally again! 👏 👏 👏

I was having a terrible time trying to reply to posts! I see it's back to normal again! 👏 👏 👏

Thank you, Meadowland! I bought the original plant many years ago but have managed to keep its descendants growing by taking cuttings every year!

Owdboggy, thank you for your answer.
On question - Hi everyone
It is one of the most frequently seen self seeded trees that there is. The seeds are tiny so they can arrive from anywhere in the vicinity.
On question - Hi everyone
Like Meadowland I have done both and it does not seem to make any difference to them.
On question - Hi everyone
No it won't and yes you could.
On question - Help with clematis please I’ve ...
Thank you, Meadowland, that's a great help, they look beautiful, so fingers crossed.
On question - Hi everyone
Thanks Karen. This morning at 8am I saw a couple of slugs slithering across the garden path and as it's brown bin day today, I went out to put them in a bucket and, honestly, I looked on the lawn and the borders and found twenty six of them ! Rained overnight so the little devils decided to come out ... :o((
