Only one flowered! I planted 20 of Sarah Raven's Iris last summer...the border is well drained and I even added grit to the planting.What could have gone wrong?

I think it is due to the poor summer the year before and they didn't initiate flower formation. I had a similar issue with these and with I reticulata.
give them a good foliar feed too.
