About me
30 years ago, when we moved to North Herts, I immediately started making changes to the garden. Our best project was to build a trellis pergola over decking outside the back door: perfect for sitting reading the paper with a coffee, and for eating supper outside. A few years ago I fulfilled a long-held ambition and completed a City & Guilds course in Garden Design at Shuttleworth College - it was challenging but SO interesting. So now I'm occasionally asked for advice on "tweaking" others' gardens. Ten years ago I started a gardening group: we have 30 members viewing each other's gardens each week and exchanging tips and spare plants at coffee time; we visit public gardens too. I'd rather be out of doors than in, but love reading, either by the fire or - preferably - in the garden. I have been seen reading in the greenhouse! I enjoy walking and swimming (when the outdoor pool is open); and am a member of the local croquet club. My gardening is a bit haphazard, but I love choosing colours that go together, taking cuttings and growing plants from seed (not very successfully). I don't think I'll ever stop making plans for more planting.
Moved to a smaller house and garden in September 2017 - much easier to manage and we love it๐.
