Why no flowers?
My Physocarpus Lady in Red is full of beautiful foliage, but absolutely no flowers.
I pruned it back in spring and it has put on lots of growth but I now wonder if I pruned it at the wrong time which has resulted in a lack of flowers. Can anyone advise me please.

Many thanks Anchorman, your reply is extremely helpful. I shall wait until next year before I get the secateurs on it again!

Physocarpus flowers on second year growth so unfortunately pruning it in spring before it flowered pruned off the flowering shoots.
it should be pruned, if necessary, in June immediately after flowering . it will then put on new growth this year which it will flower on next year.
So no more pruning until after flowering next year
