I live in North Lincolnshire and am recently retired. Now I have more time on my hands I am looking to "do a bit more" in my gravel garden. Prior to the extremely bad winter 2 years ago I had several palms and 2 tree ferns but sadly these did not survive along with many others across the country. I have had a re-think and am now looking to include different hardy evergreens, hostas, and a variety of shrubs all of which will provide a mix of interest across the year.
