Hi, I agree with Ian. If your plant is in a greenhouse, you might want to stop at eaves level. 6ft sounds like a comfortable height to manage without rsorting to precariously climbing a stepladder. By stopping the plant's growth at this height, and keeping to 2-3ft wide, you should get enough cukes on one plant to just stop you getting fed up with picking and eating them (although you can pickle them small as gherkins). Hi Billyboy and welcome to GoY. It all depends on how tall your cucumber plant is! I generally let mine grow to about 2 metres (6 foot in English) and then pinch out.
