Hi, I have chilli and capsicum peppers in my greenhouse that I am growing for the first time, the only thing wrong is the white flowers are falling off of the plants I did have aphids but did a light spraying of soapy water every other day and it seems to have done the trick, will they still bare fruit? regards Trevor UK

If you're growing them in a greenhouse, natural pollination may not occur, as bees and other beneficial insects may not get in. That's why seaburngirl has advised you to pollinate manually, in case you were wondering. :)

Thank you rosierose I was wondering why, dose that apply to tomatoes as well? regards Trevor

It would take you forever to pollinate tomato flowers. I'm sure you leave the greenhouse door open in hot weather so they should get pollinated by insects. I have never pollinated chilli, capsicums or tomatoes in the greenhouse.

well you did say they were in the greenhouse. :o)
yes for toms too, but a gentle tap on the stem will help pollen circulate.

the white flowers will drop off and there may be small peppers underneath.
but the plant will continue to produce flowers so don't despair. also when you get the next flowers use a paint brush or cotton bud and wipe around the yellow parts where the pollen is on one flower and then go round all the other flowers with the same cotton bud/paint brush to pollinate them.
