I got some begonias as a free gift with another order and have them in pots and troughs. The blooms are very nice but droop, which is a shame so I don't think I would have paid good money for them.

I have read different versions of what to do with them over winter. Will they be OK in an unheated greenhouse? I don't really like pulling bulbs up to store over winter.

They will survive in an unheated shed if you let them dry out like you would with dahlias. I leave mine in the container and let the whole lot dry. The drooping flowers may look better in hanging baskets. If you can move the whole containers under cover they should be OK like that but would benefit from fresh compost in the spring anyway though mine don't usually get it....

I never had luck storing bulbs of any kind but I think Steragram is on the money. Could you possibly have "trailing" begonias. They would look nice cascading from a pot or sprawling over the ground. I treat them as annuals & buy new ones every spring.

Thanks both of you. They are still blooming and very attractive.
I think I will keep them in the greenhouse in their pots.
I hadn't thought of trailing them but it seems logical as the blooms are very nice, also the leaves. I might try to transfer them next Spring.

Have a good look at the begonia corms and compost before you replant them because of white vine weevil grubs. They love begonias.
