Skimmias but get the male and the femail so that they can cross polinate to get the red berries for the winter. They are lovely sweet smelling and you have the flowers and decoration so much of the year.
Hi Min, it's me again I have just taken two photos of the male and female skimmias as they are in flower now and have been lovely colourful buds for months. they are going on my photos now in a minute!!!

pieris is another good choice for the container as are Aces too. Try the skimmia reevesiana, it will also polinate any other skimmias you have.

dwarf rhododendrons are another - just do a search of 'ericaceous plants' and you will come up with a whole list.
